The speed is measured as originally via the speedometer cable or can be transmitted via a speed sensor. Worn speedometer drive gears and broken speedometer cables then no longer invalidate the display and the display is very reliable. The speed reduction takes place via the light signal.

The design is very similar to the original speedometers and the additional functions are almost invisible when the engine is not running. The face plate is largely identical to the original km/h display in terms of font and position, as are the installation dimensions. The speedometers are available with black and white dials. The VBB version is also available in beige/white and thus comes very close to an original speedometer that has been faded by the sun.

Also ideal for retrofitting to Italian models, which usually only have the black plastic cap instead of a speedometer. Everything is already prepared for the speedo drive in the steering column, only the speedometer cable and the speedometer drive gear are required.
Always order the mounting plate for the speedometer at the same time – this is not included in the scope of delivery.

The first 8’ large frames Vespa 125 VNA/VNB were fitted with small, trapezoidal speedometers. Original, corresponding to the motorisation with 60 mph or 90 km/h. However, with the new repro speedometers, SIP has also issued scales up to 160 km/h. Tuners can now enjoy being able to read off their speed.

A choice of 18 functions can be shown on the lower digital display. These can be switched at the touch of a button. In addition to the standard functions such as analogue / digital speed display, trip & total kilometres, temperature, the speedometer has an analogue & digital rev counter, digital fuel and temperature display, accelerometer for distance and speed measurement, average speed and many other features.

The backlighting can be selected from eight different colours. The brightness can also be adjusted separately. The instrument performs a complete self-test before each restart. A cable set for connection to the vehicle is included in the scope of delivery. This is connected between the speedometer and the wiring harness. All without soldering, simple and uncomplicated.

The SIP speedometer / rev counter replaces the standard, very sparsely equipped speedometer with a genuine multifunctional device. The speedometer impresses with its large analogue display for speed (up to 140 km/h) and revs (up to 14,000 rpm). The speedometer needle therefore displays either speed or rpm.

The speedometer offers a precise display of the cooling water temperature and provides information on the current temperature in a range from 32° to 482° F (0° to 250°C). A digital bar display shows the temperature and warns of overheating with a flashing signal so that an immediate response is possible. An external temperature sensor for the spark plug is also supplied, which enables even more accurate temperature measurement.
