Motorcyclists who not only want to give their scooter a visual highlight this year, but also want to be more agile on the road, will get their money’s worth. The first SIP PERFORMANCE rim forged from aluminum weighs only around three kilograms. The low weight ensures greater agility and improved vehicle dynamics on the asphalt.
Weight reduction for better chassis response
Together with wheel experts, SIP PERFORMANCE has developed a new forged wheel in an elaborate development process that is not just a real eye-catcher. The five star-shaped double spokes, which are available in sleek black shiny, stylish black matt with polished spokes and elegant bronze matt, also impress with their lower weight.
And this is where the innovation lies, because at three kilograms, it is the lightest SIP 13“ rim for Modern Vespa models compared to other 13” rims. A special forging process makes the material extremely dense and hard-wearing, so that the rim can be produced significantly lighter than classic cast rims. The lower weight has an effect on the dynamics of the vehicle by reducing the unsprung masses and ensures more agile handling and more precise steering.
High-quality rim that won’t break the bank
Price also plays a role when buying a new rim. Forged rims are considered a high-end product and are usually expensive. SIP PERFORMANCE has succeeded in making a premium rim affordable, because with a price of 399 euros, the new MK II is significantly cheaper than conventional forged rims and often also cheaper than original spare parts.
Mount the new rims and drive off
The SIP PERFORMANCE rim is easy to convert as it complies with national and international standards for durability and longevity as well as the applicable safety standards and guidelines. It is therefore approved by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and of course has a general operating permit (ABE).
The MK II is suitable for both the front and rear; only an additional bushing is required for the rear wheel. Two-wheelers with ABS and a tone wheel for the ABS sensor can also be converted using a mounting kit. After a change, these only need to be recalibrated and off they go on the road! If you want to protect your rims additionally, the best way to do this is with a hub nut cover.
The SIP PERFORMANCE rim MK II is approved for the following tire sizes:
- Front tire size: 110/70-13 in conjunction with rear tire size: 110/70-13 ww. 120/70-13 ww. 130/60-13 ww. 130/70-13 ww. 140/60-13
