Elvis Jüterbock successfully completed his training as a Technical Product Designer at SIP Scootershop – with flying colors and at just 20 years old. Backed by a unique background, strong self-motivation, and a passion for Vespas that doesn’t stop at the end of the workday.

From Classroom to Design Office

Even before his apprenticeship, Elvis worked at the SIP call center during school holidays – where he stood out for his technical interest and commitment. After graduating from high school, he went straight to SIP Scootershop without any detours. Elvis remembers hearing from his father that there was an apprenticeship vacancy in product development. Given his strong interest in technology and design – and the fact that he was already riding scooters – he applied right away.

A special detail: Elvis was trained by his father André, who is known for his many SIP videos. What may sound like a tightrope act worked smoothly for the Jüterbocks. “Private is private, work is work,” says Elvis. Their shared passion for scooters naturally made things easier.

From the idea to the finished series part

Elvis has not only completed his training, he has also shortened it – from three and a half to three years. In his role as a technical product designer, he develops components on the computer, creates technical drawings, accompanies products from concept to series production and checks whether everything fits together at the end. What does he particularly like? The mix of technology and creativity. “And at SIP I had a lot of freedom for my own ideas. Some of the products I designed are now available at SIP Scootershop,” explains Elvis.

Product development is central to SIP Scootershop, as it allows innovations to be implemented, individual customer wishes to be fulfilled and the range to be continuously improved, emphasizes Ralf Jodl, Managing Director of SIP.

Wrench instead of a games console

Elvis grew up in his father’s workshop – so it was only logical that wrenching soon became part of his everyday life. As a teenager, he first tinkered with mopeds and then scooters with his friend Ruben. At the age of 16, he financed his A1 driving license himself and restored a Vespa PK 50 that once belonged to his father. His first big tour? To Italy – on the freshly renovated scooter. That was his first real scooter adventure.

Full speed ahead on the race track

In addition to the workbench and CAD software, Elvis was also bitten by the racing bug. His path to the European Scooter Challenge (ESC), a competition for ambitious riders, began with a normal scooter meeting. After a first trial race, he was hooked. Together with his friend Ruben, he competed in his first season in the K6 entry-level class – and immediately won the overall victory in four races in Germany, France and the Czech Republic.

He now also competes in the German Tin Scooter Championship (DBM) and took part in the SIP Cross Rally “Matscho Karatscho” in 2024. Elvis is and will remain part of the scooter scene – on the race track as well as in everyday life: as a mechanic, as a permanent team member at SIP and as a true two-stroke ambassador.

From CAD models to store shelves – from Elvis’ hand:

Petrol in his blood and design in his head

What does Elvis take away from his training at SIP? More than just dry theory. “I was allowed to shoot videos, implement my own projects and got to know lots of interesting people, as SIP is internationally known and highly respected in the scooter scene,” explains Elvis, “it’s not textbook training, it’s real life.”

At his young age, Elvis has already experienced more than many die-hard scooter fans have in decades –
a successfully completed apprenticeship, his first international racing successes, the restoration of a scooter – and a clear vision for the future: to continue to shake up the Vespa world.

And if you’re now thinking, I want to have as much fun at work, you can apply for the vacancies at SIP.
