It’s that time of year again, a new year is just around the corner and so the planning for upcoming events in the Vespa scene begins again. This year, the SIP Scootershop from Landsberg am Lech has once again planned popular events for the whole family.
SIP Open Day
As every year, the SIP Scootershop Open Day 2024 marks the start of the scooter season in Landsberg am Lech and beyond! This year, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the SIP Scootershop (1994-2024), the event will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10 am to 6 pm.
The last Open Day attracted around 2500 scooter riders from various regions. This year’s date is particularly convenient, as the Open Day falls on a Saturday and Ascension Day on the Thursday before allows for a long weekend.
This day is a great experience not only for die-hard Vespa fans, but also for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. Families are also welcome to come along with their children, as there is plenty of space for them to run around and play.
What can visitors expect?
- Pizza from the wood-fired ape
- Delicious food and drinks from the Italian SIPERIA Cafe-Bar
- A parts and used parts market
- Performance measurements on a calibrated P4 Amerschläger test stand for a voluntary donation of €10
- A photo wall for all visitors
- Vinyl music: DJ Leo Ernst (Atomic Cafe Munich) provides soul and R&B

Matscho Karatscho #3
On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the VESPA Scooter Cross Event #3, known as MATSCHO KARATSCHO, will take place in Landsberg am Lech. It is the third edition of this event, for which a specially created motocross track has been lovingly prepared in the front garden.
Interested riders can register to take part at [email protected]. Spectators are also welcome to attend the spectacle. Catering will be provided, the organizers promise.
Christian Laufkötter has announced that a VCVD sports run will take place on Open Day. Invitations will be issued for both events to mark the 30th anniversary of the SIP Scootershop, in the hope of welcoming as many participants as possible.

SIP itself is only hosting the Matscho Karatscho race once a year, this time it’s on the 27th of July.
But there are other events, for example the 11th German Vespa Rally on the 16. -17. August 2024, it is held by the Vespa Club Gießen.
