Vespa clubs and events
What purpose do the numerous Vespa clubs in Germany actually serve? How many of them are there, you ask? The answer is: it’s not possible to count them reliably, as there is a high number of unreported cases (small and very small groups that come and go).
On the one hand, these clubs are one big family that conveys the Italian way of life and lets you experience it together. On the other hand, they are a community of purpose to compensate for the ever decreasing number of Vespa workshops. They offer their members workshops so that they can carry out at least the most important small repairs themselves in their own garage/workshop. They exchange experiences and, last but not least, a cozy get-together is at the top of the list.
The Mecca of Vespisti, their relatives and friends, is undoubtedly the S.I.P. Scootershop in Bavaria. In addition to two-wheelers, spare parts and accessories, there are recurring annual events, each with a special motto:
SIP Open Day – 30 years of SIP Scootershop
SIP Open Day: A classic open day for one of the largest spare and tuning parts stores, which acts like a magnet. Not only the flagship store and the SIP Scootershop warehouse can be found there, but also many other exhibitors. There is no shortage of food and drink and plenty to see and do. The SIP will take place on May 18, 2024.
Matscho Karatscho – Vespa Cross #3
Matscho Karatscho: A crazy scooter race on our own track in Landsberg am Lech at Marie-Curie-Straße 4. It will take place on July 27, 2024, already for the third time. For further information, please check the SIP Scootershop regularly.

SIP Joyride
The SIP Joyride event has already become a tradition for many Vespisti. There will be a day trip in a larger group, which for many scooter riders starts at home with the ride to Landsberg. Some form/organize themselves in advance via Facebook, for example, to arrive together as a group in Landsberg at SIP. It is a remarkable spectacle when more and more Vespa groups arrive. The riders then usually treat themselves to a coffee in the SIPERIA, where they can chat and catch up.
SIP Aperitivo
The SIP Vespa Aperitivo takes place every year on a Thursday, from 17:00 to 20:00. This event is organized by the small, in-house Italian bar SIPERIA. True to Italian tradition, a small snack is served with the drink. The exact date can be found on the Facebook/Instagram page.
What can you expect? In any case, lots of nice people, all Vespa-crazy or Italy fans. Or both.
Vespa events in other European countries
Vespa Alp Days
For the 15th time, Vespisti from all over Europe meet in Zell am See/Austria for the Vespa Alp Days. Zell is the Vespa capital of Austria, nestled in picturesque mountain scenery.
The main event will take place from Thursday, June 6, 2024 to Sunday, June 9, 2024 (limited to 1000 participants), preceded by the Vespa Alp Days Xtra Days from Saturday, June 1, 2024 to Wednesday, June 5, 2024 (number of participants very limited). Xtra tours Loferer Almenwelt, Salzburg & Rossfeld panoramic road.
Extensive 9-day program, with open-air events, rides in small groups and all participants of the Vespa Alp Days. Registration from January 1, 2024/00:00.
Giro GTS 2024
This year’s destination for the Giro GTS: Dalmatia is the southern part of Croatia, the southernmost region between Zadar and Dubrovnik. The list of participants for date 1: June 17-22, 2024 and date 2: June 24-29, 2024 is already full, but there is a waiting list.
Special feature: A declaration must be signed stating that this Giro GTS is an exclusive and strenuous Vespa event that places high demands on man and machine.
With your signature you express your serious interest in participating and request a place. Furthermore, you agree to the processing of your data as part of the registration process.
Vespa tre Nazioni Lake Constance, Kreuzlingen/Ch
On May 26, 2024, the Vespa tre Nazioni Lake Constance tour will take place again. Due to the high number of participants in 2023, a number of conditions were imposed by the city administration and the Kreuzlingen police headquarters. Based on this, the Corso fee of 5 CHF/5 EU will be charged for the first time in 2024, which includes
- Security fee (police escort and Falco traffic service)
- Event magnet 2024 (identification for the Corso participants)
- Donation to the Swiss Children’s Cancer Aid
All Vespisti and visitors are asked to have small change/small bills ready at the cash desks to avoid long queues.
Pragovespa #12
On June 21 to 26, 2024, the popular Vespa meeting Pragovespa will take place again in the Czech Republic. Organizer: Vespa Club Praha, Czech Republic. Location of the event: HG Sports Center Troja. The Tragovespa is one of the largest and now most traditional gatherings of Vespa riders and fans in the Czech Republic.
Great event days can be expected in this picturesque landscape and the Adriatic Sea in the east of the country.
Last but not least, the biggest and most important event of all:
The Vespa World Days 2024
They will take place in the birthplace of the Vespa: in Pontedera – Terre di Pisa in Italy, from April 18 to 21. These Vespa World Days were actually planned for Canada, but the Vespa club responsible for organizing them there couldn’t make it happen. “Just as well”, we are inclined to say, because it is much easier to get to Italy from Germany than to Canada.
There is also plenty of reason to celebrate:
140 years of Piaggio, 100 years of the Pontedera plant, 70 years of Eurovespa Paris.
The early date in April has a slightly bitter aftertaste. Of course, it will very much depend on the weather whether the Vespa can be ridden through the mountains. A slightly later date in the summer would certainly have been better, at least for us scooter riders who want to ride to Pontedera in style. But after the date in Canada was canceled, we are happy to have a new date at short notice.
A broad program has been put together for the four days full of Vespa topics, so there will certainly be no boredom here.
The Vespa museum, the Museo Piaggio, located in Pontedera – in the heart of Tuscany – is not affected by the weather or the schedule. It was completely renovated in 2018 and now has no less than 5000 square meters of exhibition space. A total of seven collections/250 exhibits tell not only the history of Piaggio, but also the entire past of mobility and industrial development of the industry throughout Europe and Italy.
