A Vespa trip that re-explores the world and its possibilities – this is the story of Fahad Almutawa, the 38-year-old President of the Vespa Club Kuwait. He embarked on a remarkable journey from Kuwait to Germany on his yellow Vespa GTS 300.
Supported by around 100 members of the Vespa Club Kuwait, Fahad set off on his adventurous tour a couple of weeks ago. From Kuwait City, his route took him through various cities and landscapes, including Baghdad, Erbil, Istanbul, Sofia, Sarajevo, Zagreb, Trieste, Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass, to Landsberg am Lech – the headquarters of SIP Scootershop, the world’s leading supplier of Vespa spare parts and accessories.

The decision to choose SIP Scootershop as his destination was an obvious one for Fahad: he wanted to visit the “heartland for Vespa enthusiasts”. When he arrived at SIP Scootershop, Fahad received a warm welcome. In addition to lunch in the “Siperia”, the Italian bar in the SIP Scootershop flagship store, he signed the guest book and had the opportunity to speak with co-founder and CEO Ralf Jodl. The visit was rounded off with a tour of the factory and petrol talks.
But Fahad’s journey is not over yet. He plans to continue his tour via Austria and Switzerland in order to attend the World Vespa Meeting in Pontedera, Italy, next weekend. This meeting takes place right in the historic Vespa factory and is a must for every Vespa lover.
So far, the entire tour has been accident-free, and Fahad is confident that it will stay that way. “Inshallah,” he adds, an expression of hope and faith. The reunion is already planned: In two weeks, he will be on his way to Frankfurt to meet more Vespa friends and enthusiasts.
