Although there are no rooms made of amber in the small town of St. Vigil in South Tyrol, there is a special accommodation for Vespa riders that makes their dreams all come true. At the Hotel Al Plan, one room is entirely dedicated to the cult two-wheeler made by Piaggio.
Side tables with V50 cutaway engines and luggage racks as bedside tables are just a few of the room’s highlights. The decorations consist of side bonnets, frames, a showcase with various Vespa models from different eras and historical upholstery in the colour “Vespa green”. The room is also furnished with lots of leather and wood. From the balcony you have a great view of the Kronplatz. In the high season, the prices are completely reasonable. So if you are curious about the Vespa Hotel, you should come to the Dolomites and be surprised. There are even rooms in the Fiat, Ducati and Harley Davidson look.
A museum is directly attached to the hotel, because the owners Maurizio and Theodora have been collecting special objects such as coffee grinders, clocks, masks and many other bizarre things for some time. 17 different Vespas are even on display. Two-wheelers from Harley Davidson, BMW and Moto Guzzi can also be found in the various departments. Rare vintage cars like a Lancia Delta Integrale Martinini and a Fiat Topolino A from 1947 can also be found.
Nearby is a picturesque viewpoint to which larger tours can be taken. For this purpose, it is possible to rent one of the Vespas. At the moment there is a Vespa Primavera 125 cc, an ET4 125 cc and a Vespa Elettrica 50 cc available.
The Trebo family has really built up a great little empire in San Vigilio with the Hotel Al Plan, which gives tourists a lot of pleasure. If you have lost your heart to Vespas, this is the place to be and you can learn a thing or two. In case of any inconvenience or emergency, the hotel offers its own towing service, which, according to its own information, works faster than the ADAC.
The hotel is fairytale and nostalgic, with an ambience that seeks to enchant guests. Those who are looking to relax are welcome to spend some time in the wellness and spa area. There are saunas, whirlpools and soothing massages. In addition to the Vespa room, the hotel rooms have different themes such as:
- Clockmaker room
- Music room
- Chamber of the Puppeteer
It is even possible to check in with a real cockpit on the balcony. This makes every day a unique and exciting experience. The hotel distinguishes itself from other hotels by being different and is also very child-friendly. Those who want to spend the night in the museum are welcome to do so. Otherwise, the hotel is right next to the ski slope and has a wonderful sun terrace with a beautiful, large garden. A nature park can be visited at any time, where you can let your soul dangle.
The Vespa Südtirol is a hotel that cannot be found anywhere else, as the owners have created an incredible atmosphere and fascination. The Vespa Südtirol is not only a hotel, but also a museum and holiday resort for all those who want to learn something or do some sport.
